After studying Chapter 12, you will be able to:

  • Define accounting terms related to payroll records.
  • Identify accounting concepts and practices related to payroll records.
  • Complete a payroll time card.
  • Calculate payroll taxes.
  • Complete a payroll register and an employee earnings record.
  • Prepare payroll checks. 

Chapter 12 Folder

  1. Inside of your Part 2 folder, create a new folder titled Chapter 12.  All your tasks completed in Chapter 12 should be stored in this folder.

Notes 12-1

  1. Obtain a Notes 12-1 handout from your instructor and record your notes through the presentation.  You can also view the presentation here.

Working Together 12-1

  1. Make a copy of this spreadsheet.
  2. Place this file in your Chapter 12 folder.
  3. Rename the file to Lesson 12-1 (Your Initials)
  4. Complete the spreadsheet according to the directions on page 344 or below.
