Assignment 6.I.1

  1. Inside of your Unit 2 folder, create a new folder titled Chapter 6.  Everything you complete for Chapter 6 will be stored within this folder.

  1. Read each of these statements and mark whether you agree or disagree.

Assignment 6.1.1

  1. Watch Video 1.1
  2. Record the missing words from pages 130-131 of the textbook as they pop up on the left side of the video screen by filling in this form.  (pages 130-131) .
  3. Discussion Questions:
    1. Explain why our culture is so heavily marketed to.
    2. Summarize Dave’s message about having fun with money.

Assignment 6.1.2

  1. Watch at least 10 to 15 minutes of product and services commercials (minimum of 5) on YouTube, paying close attention to the advertisement showcased in the video, but also to the pop-up advertisements before, during, and after the videos. Use the information below to help you analyze the advertisements. Record your findings on the Commercial Viewer Form below.
    1. Make a copy of this Google Document.
    2. Rename the document Commercials-(Your Name).
    3. Place the document in your Chapter 6 folder.
    4. Complete the assigned tasks based on the directions given in the document itself.

  1. Make a copy of this Google Document.
  2. Rename the file to Personal Finance Journal-C6-(Your Initials).
  3. Move this file into your Chapter 6 folder in your Google Drive.
  4. Fill out the first two rows of the table by answering the question.
