Day 44-48

In this lesson, you’ll learn how to do the following:

  • Apply and edit SmartFilters.
  • Use the Liquify filter to distort an image.
  • Apply color effects to selected areas of an image.
  • Apply filters to create various effects.
  • Use the History panel to return to a previous state.
  • Upscale a low-resolution image for high-resolution printing.

Assignment 9.1

  1. Inside of your Computer Graphics folder, create another new folder titled Lesson 9.
  2. Now go to this folder and make a copy of the following files:
    •  Backdrop.psd
    • Bolts.psd
    • Enhanced_Green_Forehead.psd
    • Faces.psd
    • FireFighter.psd
    • FireFighterAxe.psd
    • FireFighterHelmet.psd
    • FireFighterMask.psd
    • FireFighterSuit.psd
    • FireScene.psd
    • Franken.psd
    • Ghost
    • Green_Ear_Staples.psd
    • Green_Neck_Stitches.psd
    • Green_Nose_Stitches.psd
    • Green_Skin_Texture.psd
    • Monster_Hair.psd
    • T1.psd
  3. Move them into your Lesson 9 folder.
  4. Read through Lesson 9 (Espanol).
  5. Complete the yellow highlighted steps in Adobe Photoshop.
  6. When prompted to use a keyboard combination, be sure to use the ONSCREEN KEYBOARD within your virtual machine as shown below:

Assignment 9.2

  1. Make a copy of this Google Document (Espanol), rename it to Lesson 9 Study Guide-(your initials), and move it into your Lesson 9 folder.
  2. Complete the study guide as directed.

Assignment 9.3

  1. Navigate to your Lesson 9 folder inside of your Computer Graphics folder.  Your folder should have the following files in it:

    • Bolts.psd

    • Faces.psd

    • Green_Nose_Stitches.psd

    • FireFighters.psd
    • Lesson 9 Study Guide
  2. Single-click your Lesson 9 folder and then click on the Share button.  When prompted, enter your teacher’s email address and click Send.
