Day 1

After studying Lesson 1-1, you will be able to:

  1. Describe the changing status of U.S. employment.
  2. Discuss the role of business in the U.S. economy.
  3. Describe three major types of businesses.

Assignment 1.1.1

  1. Log into your Google Drive account.
  2. Click the new button and choose New Folder.  Name the folder MS Business.
  3. Inside of this folder, create a new folder titled Lesson 1.  

Assignment 1.1.2

  1. Obtain a copy of the notes handout (Espanol).
  2. Read Lesson 1-1 on pages 100-105.
  3. As you read, utilize this presentation to help you fill in the missing parts on the handout.

Assignment 1.1.4

  1. Select a product that involves all of the types of businesses in its production and marketing that were mentioned in your notes.  Do some research online to identify where these businesses are located for the product you chose.  
  2. Obtain a piece of posterboard from your instructor.
  3. Draw an illustration that shows each business and its role in the successful production and sale of the product.  Title your illustration, color it, and label the component parts. (example)
