  1. Create a new Google Document titled Applicant Laws-(Your Initials) and place it in your Lesson 2 folder.
  2. Obtain your assigned law and partner from your instructor.  Conduct online research to obtain information on the law that protects people during the hiring process listed below:
    1. Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990
    2. Pregnancy Discrimination Act of 1978
    3. Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1975
    4. Fair Labor Standards Act of 1938
    5. Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
    6. Equal Pay Act of 1963
    7. Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA) of 1967
    8. Rehabilitation Act of 1973
    9. The Civil Rights Act of 1991
  3. In your document, write a paragraph explaining why your law was passed, what it helps to protect, and an answer to “What actions are illegal when selecting among various people for a job?”  Use the Insert menu > Page elements > Footer to add a footer in the document.  Paste the web address(s) to cite where you got your information from.
